A fun, high-energy class designed for younger dancers to build strong foundational skills while exploring both jazz and hip hop in an engaging, age-appropriate environment.

30 min Jazz technique & choreography

30 min Hip Hop technique & choreography

Dancers will focus on coordination, rhythm, confidence, and basic performance skills while learning fun combinations in both styles.

Bright Beginnings is an elementary-friendly beginner/intermediate dance class designed for dancers typically within the program’s age range who are just starting their dance journey or still building a strong foundation. This class focuses on introducing basic technique, improving coordination and musicality, and helping dancers grow in

confidence in a fun, supportive environment.

Beginner / Intermediate Beginner Dancer:

-Has 0–2 years of formal dance training

-Still learning basic technique and terminology

-Working on coordination, balance, and body awareness

-Building strength, flexibility, and musicality

-May need reminders for choreography, timing, and spacing

-Developing confidence in performance and classroom participation

-Learning foundational skills such as turns, jumps, and across-the-floor progressions

-Beginning to retain choreography at a steady pace

Dancers participating in Bright Beginnings are still welcome to audition for the 2026–2027 New Heights Dance Company competitive season. Dancers who are within the Bright Beginnings age range but do not fit the description of a beginner/intermediate dancer are encouraged to email New Heights Dance Company at [email protected] for guidance on summer class placement.
