At New Heights Dance Company, we believe every dancer deserves the opportunity to grow, shine, and discover their full potential. Our competitive dance program is designed to challenge dancers, build confidence, and create lifelong friendships in a positive, encouraging environment where every child is valued.For the 2026–2027 season, we are excited to offer two competitive program options, allowing families to choose the experience that best fits their dancer's goals.
Team-Based Training
New Heights Dance Company is a team-based competitive dance program, allowing dancers to train, perform, and grow alongside teammates who share similar goals and skill levels. Teams are offered in a variety of dance styles, including:
Jazz
Hip Hop
Open
Musical Theatre
Lyrical
Contemporary
Each team focuses on developing strong technique, performance quality, teamwork, confidence, and lasting friendships while preparing for performances and competitions throughout the season. Team placement is based on each dancer's evaluation, including their skill level, understanding of movement, and overall readiness. At New Heights Dance Company, there is a place for every dancer. We offer teams for a variety of ages and experience levels, ensuring each dancer is placed where they can learn, grow, and thrive.

Rising Stars (Local Competitive Program)
Perfect for dancers who want the excitement of competition while maintaining a lighter weekly commitment.
-1 hour team rehearsal each week
-30 min technique class each week
-Performance Opportunities
-3 regional competitions throughout the Raleigh-Durham (RDU) area
-Christmas Parade
-End-of-Year Recital
-Local community performances and events
These performance opportunities allow dancers to consistently grow, build confidence, and gain valuable stage experience throughout the season.

Monthly Tuition (September–June)
$95 per month
One-Time Seasonal Fees
$50 Registration Fee (per dancer)
$150 Competition Costume Fee
Official NHDC Team Gear
Competition fees (vary by competition)
Season Includes: 3 competitions
Shooting Stars (Travel Competitive Program)
Designed for dancers who are looking for a more immersive competitive dance experience with additional performance and travel opportunities.

These performance opportunities allow dancers to consistently grow, build confidence, and gain valuable stage experience throughout the season.
New Heights offers Shooting Stars dancers the opportunity to participate on multiple competition teams. Dancers selected for more than one team attend an additional 1.5-hour weekly team rehearsal while continuing to participate in the weekly technique class. Participating on multiple teams requires an increased tuition commitment and additional rehearsal time.
